Mayfield Drive
are a rock band from central scotland.
Over the last 6 years the band has played in over 100 venues both in the Uk and in a small tour of France. The band is made up of 3 close friends all with the same interest, Music.
The name: Mayfield Drive comes from a street in Armadale, West Lothian. It was in a house on that very street that the band formed. Many good and many bad memories come from that street and effect all three members and so the name is just.
We love what we do, and we love that people enjoy watching us love what we do.
Bobby Knox (guitar and vocals)
was one of the first members of the band. Having been in bands before Mayfield Drive and gigged regularly around his local area Bobby was keene to get his own thing going. His style of guitar is unique and his sound refined. His personal taste for the Fender guitars gives our front man a distinctive sound.
Being the frontman for a three piece band can't be easy, but with his love and enthusiasm Bobby is never drowned out by the rythm section and his interaction with the crowd is energetic and fun.
Mark Trodden (Bass Guitar / Backing Vocals / R Guitar)
Was the co-creater of the band, It was Marks house on Mayfield Drive that gave us its name. Originally on rythem guitar, Mark moved to bass and has been playing bass ever since. Mark has a very melodic style of playing bass using notes and accents to compliment our music as we write and perform it. Mark activly writes some of our material and is incredibly passionate about the band.
Outside of the band, mark is very social and friendly person, you'll usually find him to be the life of a party and in most cases, the last one at the party!
Ryan Mathieson (Drums)
Was invited to be band shortly after its conception. Anyone who knows Ryan is aware that he is "drums in the head", Ryan is enthusiastic and very active in the band. His drum beats are usually complex and he focuses alot on cymbal work as well as just holding a beat.
Ryan developed and maintains this web site, Organises many of the gigs and is typically found to be the designated driver (through choice). Ryan loves Mayfield Drive and within 5 minutes of first meeting him, he'll probably tell you all about it.
